Playa Blancais a really beautiful beach near Cartagena.Is an authentic caribbean beach with turquoise/clear waters and white sand. Just as Cartagena (old city) there are plenty of mobile vendors here. The difference is that here you can buy a massage overlooking the Caribbean Sea . No sophisticated restaurants or bars and restrooms are quite rustic - and you have to pay to use them. But the place is so beautiful that even with these minor problems is well worth the visit.You can get to Playa Blanca by land or boat. The easiest way is to take a 15 to 20 passenger fast boat from the main pier in Cartagena early in the morning. You get to the island around 10AM. You can arrange to rent a "cabana" for the night so you can really enjoy your time at the beach. Next day, locals can help you arrange similar boat to go back to Cartagena.
