Pink Beach, Sardinia, Italy:

Pink Beach, Sardinia, Italy:

This beach, located in the southern part of the island of Budelli, takes its name from the characteristic pink color of the sand, formed by the disintegration of millions of shells of Rosaceae marine animals, and today is visitable only if accompanied by guides of the Park. This drastic measure was taken to bring the beach back to its natural balance, after that in the previous years, the beach was damaged so much by tourists, who loved to take home the prestigious sand as souvenir, as much to get almost the complete disappearance of its pink sand. The Pink Beach has been immortalized in the film of 1964 "Red Desert" by Michelangelo Antonioni. The beach is accessible by sea and the service is rendered by the boats that take tourists around the archipelago of La Maddalena.
