Balandra is a beautiful bay offering shallow waters, white sandy beaches and a beautiful mountainous backdrop! It’s only about 15 minutes from downtown La Paz.As we rounded the corner of road to the parking lot with a single vendor we were stunned at the color and beauty of this bay. As advised by others there are no services so bring all that you need with you. We gathered our things and walked down to and out into the crystal clear and warm waters. Schools of fish were swimming around our feet. We walked at least 100 yards off shore and were standing in water only over our knees. We found a spot around the side of the bay to set our towels and bathe and explore the beach. We had a fantastic day at this beach mid week, not crowded we had a whole side of beach to ourselves relaxed and enjoyed the day. Worth the 20 minute drive from town. But do come prepared with water, snacks etc as there are no services.
